A long-time Toluca Lake homeowner, Colby's real estate background began as a restorer of antique homes in Connecticut and California. Then, following in his father's successful footsteps, Colby became a real estate agent who specializes in uniting selective clients with properties of exceptional vintage character.

In 2019 Los Angeles voters elected Colby to the Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council, Toluca Lake's governing body. Colby also serves on Toluca Lake's Planning & Land Use Committee, which oversees residential and commercial real estate development throughout the village.
