TOLUCA LAKE’S ANNUAL CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA

Christmas tree on display in the Ramsey-Shilling offices decorated by Realtor, Dina Novak.

Santa Claus, accompanied by police sirens, flashing lights and the Toluca Christmas Trolley was delivered by convertible to his red leather throne at Ramsey Shilling Associates much to the delight of a throng of waiting children and their parents, kicking off the 2018 Toluca Lake Holiday Open House. Santa, ably portrayed by the Toluca Lake Tennis Club’s Adam Tucker, a personal trainer whose toned body required substantial padding, smiled and listened intently as over a hundred children made him aware of what they really, really wanted for Christmas. Two costumed elves, with pointed ears added gratis by Cinema Secrets, added realism to the photos provided by the Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce and artfully taken by Fred Spigelman. Paulanna Cucinello guided an awe-inspiring event for her open house swan song. Toluca Lake is grateful for the time and effort

Fritz Coleman, honorary Toluca Lake mayor, with Ramsey-Shilling Agent, Dina Novak.

Paulanna gifted the Village over the last five years. Cudos also go to the other members of the Chamber, including President Jon Molin, who all helped make this once again a success.

At seven o’clock a crowd gathered outside Santa Land where Toluca Lake’s honorary mayor, Fritz Coleman of Channel 4, NBC, officially opened the event by counting down as the Village Christmas Tree was lit. Jon Molin emceed the festivities as the Chamber of Commerce provided checks for Toluca Lake resident, Joe Montegna to hand to the U S Marine’s Toys for Tots campaign, and for Jon to present to both the Toluca Lake Elementary School and Los

Angeles Fire Department.

Many Village businesses opened their doors to strollers from far and wide, and financial gifts

from both Village businesses and private donors helped defray the weighty cost of the event. Among open businesses was Ramsey Shilling, where over a thousand cups of wine, chips and pretzels were given away. Those whoentered the building were amazed by the custom designer tree which was decorated by Ramsey Shilling’s Dina Novak. At the other end of the building was Santa Land, which was designed and decorated by Dina and Tom Hilt, who was Santa’s chief elf, helping kids and parents

 get into Santa’s winter wonderland.

All in all, it was another exciting Toluca Lake opening of the holiday season.
